The Masked Singer spoilers follow.
In yesterday's (May 26) season five finale, Black Swan, Chameleon, and Piglet battled it out for the 'Golden Mask' trophy, with Piglet ultimately crowned the winner.
Chameleon – otherwise known as Wiz Khalifa – came in third place, while Black Swan – AKA singer JoJo – narrowly missed out in second.
But the all-important reveal came with Piglet's unmasking as the eventual champion, after they secured the win with a performance of Journey's 'Faithfully'.
Judges Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg guessed Piglet's identity correctly, as did guest panellist and former winner LeAnn Rimes, so there were smiles all round when Nick Lachey was finally announced as the star behind the mask.
Nick, member of '90s boyband 98 Degrees, star of OG reality series Newlyweds, and co-host of Netflix's Love Is Blind, spoke to Variety about his Masked Singer victory, revealing that he threw caution to the wind when he became Piglet.
"I really tried to approach it in a way to say, 'Hey, have some fun and try some different things. Maybe they'll work, maybe they don't. But at the very least they'll be memorable," he explained.
"That was kind of my mentality with this whole thing. Leave it all out there and go for it. Why be cautious, you're in a pig costume!"
Speaking of pig costumes, Nick went on to admit that he was "never fully comfortable" while performing on the show.
"[The costume is] definitely the most challenging part of the show. There was a point the beginning where I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do this. It was just really tough," he said.
"You know what it feels like to sing and perform. And I was like, 'This isn't it, this is not performing right now'. I'm proud of the fact that we were all able to work together to get to a point where I could go out there and do what I need to do."
And you did it Nick, you brought home the bacon.
The Masked Singer US airs on Fox, while its UK equivalent airs on ITV.
