Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr has confirmed that he has quit the Channel 4 series.
The star, who has appeared on the show alongside the Malone family, first joined the show over six years ago – and announced his departure in an Instagram post.
"So after 6 and a half years it's finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox," he captioned a picture of himself holding a sign reading: "Back on the market / Get at me with any TV work".
While he explained that he will be pursuing new opportunities, Tom assured fans that the rest of the Malone family will remain on the series.
"I've loved every minute and I'm eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show," he continued. "But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it's time to explore them.
"I look forward to enjoying the show as a viewer and not having to worry about having said something stupid PS. Don't worry my family @themalonesgb and @shaunmalone95 will still be on the show to keep you guys entertained every Friday. To the future."
Tom's departure comes ahead of Gogglebox's return to screens tomorrow night (February 26).
Meanwhile, the star also recently revealed that the "hardest" part of filming the show was choosing a takeaway for the family, explaining that his dad was "super picky with food".
"Anything too far away from a pie or chips or sausage and mash isn't really his thing," he explained in a TikTok Q&A. "So that's the hardest thing about it but honestly [it's] one of the best things about Gogglebox."
Gogglebox returns to Channel 4 tomorrow (February 26) at 9pm.
