If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on Sony’s super-powered PlayStation 5, you’ll know you’ve needed to be patient, even if it's been out in the UK for several months now. Gamers have had to wait for limited stock at a few retailers, and the console's become almost impossible to secure.

The next-gen console gets us a little weak at the knees with its 4K graphics, lightning-fast load-times, and fantastic list of amazing games to play. And we’re only likely to be more impressed with the dozens of upcoming titles to play in the future.

We’ve been playing everything from Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart to Demon’s Souls and Spider-Man: Miles Morales on our PS5, and are blown away by just how good New York City can look. But we know we’re among the lucky ones, and there are many of you still out there who haven’t got one yet.

That’s why we’ve built this handy guide to help you find out whenever any new stock lands online, as well as the best retailers to help you get your PS5 with free delivery or bundled with affordable accessories.

Sony says it plans to speed up PS5 manufacturing as we get further into 2021, and as the ongoing pandemic eases up, but we have still found it hard to spot these offers online even as we enter the second half of the year.

So far, we have seen stock from Amazon, Very, Currys, AO, Argos and John Lewis during the last few months, and these will likely be the main websites you’ll be able to find new stock (if it ever arrives).

We’ve listed out the retailers and their current stock situation below but, just to warn you, it doesn’t look good at the moment.

We will continually update this article with new stock as and when we see it. For now, you can check out a few of our other articles to help you get your gaming setup ready ahead of time.

      Amazon

As you'd expect, Amazon was offering up the PlayStation 5 for the regular asking price of £449, but when you search for the PS5 on the website, it says "currently unavailable". The same can be said for the more affordable all-digital edition, which is also out of stock.

In fact, the only PS5-related stuff you can buy are games and accessories like the DualSense controller, which is actually reduced right now by £4.

Amazon also stocks the two new controller colours, Cosmic Red and Midnight Black for £64.99.

      VERY.co.uk

Very was a popular retailer for gamers when the pre-orders lifted back in September 2020, but stock hasn’t really landed in the last few weeks. It was offering the main console for £449, and the more affordable all-digital edition for £359, same as most other places.

However, if you've already picked up your new console, Very is also a good place to get a number of additional extras, including a Sony-licensed pair of Pulse 3D headphones, the wonderful DualSense controller, or some of the latest games.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available for £44.99 right now, or get Resident Evil Village for £49.99.

Very offers free deliveries if you spend more than £30, or you can do Click & Collect if you prefer.

      GAME

Both editions of the PlayStation 5 are out of stock on GAME’s website, and we haven’t heard any news about when they will return.

While you wait, you can order the PS5 wireless controller right now for £59.99 so that you've got an additional controller when your console arrives. Or pick up Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for £69.99 if you’re lucky enough to already have one.

      AO.com

If you like to shop with AO, you’ll be happy to know it did have offers on the PS5 in the past, though they are currently unavailable right now.

You can, of course, buy the usual accessories for similar prices elsewhere, so you can kit out your gaming hub before your console arrives.

For example, Demon’s Souls is available for £56, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is £56, or Sackboy A Big Adventure! is £48.

      Currys

Both versions of the PS5 are unavailable on Currys’ website, and some of the accessories are also available either, but there are still a few things you can get to upgrade your general gaming setup.

Currys may be getting more stock of the PS5, and its online storefront is here.
