The trailer, which you can watch above, debuted at the PlayStation showcase on Thursday (September 9), with the game confirmed for release in 2023.
In the game, Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be teaming up to take on the debuting Venom, who will be voiced by Tony Todd (best known for portraying Candyman).
The trailer shows both Spider-Men fighting off bad guys together, with a voiceover saying: "For as long as I can remember, I have looked for an equal. One who could push me, one who could surprise me, one who could even beat me. Yet, all I found is disappointment. Will one of you finally give me what I desire?"
The trailer doesn't show who the mysterious voice belongs to, but fans are speculating it could be that of Kraven the Hunter. Though we're going to have to wait and see on that one.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games' Ryan Schneider described Spider-Man 2 as the "most epic single-player adventure yet".
He also confirmed that creative director Bryan Intihar and game director Ryan Smith would both be returning from Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4.
In other big news, Insomniac also revealed that a Wolverine game is also coming to the PS5, directed by Brian Horton (creative director) and Cameron Christian (game director).
Schneider wrote on the PlayStation blog: "In the vein of our Spider-Man games, our goal here is to not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit.
"Even though Marvel’s Wolverine is very early in development, from what I’ve seen of its emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay (see what I did there?), the team is already creating something truly special."
Spider-Man 2 is set for release sometime in 2023.
