Idris Elba and Extraction director Sam Hargrave are about to make an assassin thriller together.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros paid over $1 million for Tyler Marceca's script Stay Frosty, which finds a man (portrayed by Elba) miraculously surviving a bullet to the head.
In true 80s action movie style, this lucky son of a gun needs to stop the shooter who wants to finish the job, while still making it home to spend Christmas with his son.
This extends Elba's busy schedule, as the actor has many projects in different stages of development right now, including this August's soft reboot The Suicide Squad.
Elba's latest cinematic effort was Netflix drama Concrete Cowboy, which received four stars from Digital Spy in our review.
"The familiarity of the story is down to the plot: "Teen on the verge sent to a new and daunting place and finds community and acceptance." That in and of itself is a story we've seen before.
"What makes Concrete Cowboy worth watching is the completely unique setting, the characters' dynamics, and the power of its actors," this read.
Concrete Cowboy is now streaming on Netflix.
