The Sims 4's next expansion Cottage Living will add farming – watch the official trailer

Cows, chickens, llamas and more.

The Sims 4 has announced the next Expansion Pack, and it's one that's gotten a lot of people very excited.

The Sims 4: Cottage Living, set in the idyllic English-inspired town of Henford-on-Bagley, adds farming to the game as Sims can grow their own produce, raise and breed animals, and connect with nature as they embrace village life.

The above trailer, with a Simlish version of Japanese Breakfast song 'Be Sweet' playing in the background, offers a look at some of the farming activities including getting milk from cows and wool from llamas.

In addition, the Finchwick Fair gives villagers an opportunity to enter their best crops and favourite cows and chickens in contests.

There is a pub named The Gnome's Arms, while other things to do include picnics, cross-stitching, and exploring the forest and countryside. The town also features wild rabbits, foxes (who can swipe eggs), and birds.

The pack is out on Thursday, July 22 on PC/Mac (both Origin and Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Farming has been one of the most-requested pack themes for years.

In an unofficial poll ran by Digital Spy in January 2020 which asked fans what packs they would love to see in the game, farming finished in fourth place with more than 12,000 votes.

This month has already seen the release of Dream Home Decorator, which introduces the interior decorator career. Sims can deliver home renovations for clients, while the pack comes with an impressive amount of new furnishings including brand new sectional sofas.

Recent free base game updates have included a Likes and Dislikes system, 16 East Asian eye presets, six new hair colours, and two significantly improved afro hairstyles.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
